Long Awaited Musical Makes Its Way To Silver Screen
Originally announced as one film, Wicked was split into two films in April 2022. The first half, titled simply Wicked, is scheduled to be released theatrically on November 27, 2024, with the second half, titled Wicked: Part Two, set for release on December 25, 2025.
The film adaptation of the Broadway musical stars Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, The Color Purple) as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Ariana Grande (Victorious, Sam & Cat) as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North.
The film also features Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Crashing) as Fiyero, a prince who falls in love with Elphaba, and Marissa Bode (The Greatest Showman, Dear Evan Hansen) as Nessarose, Elphaba's younger sister.
Wicked is a musical that tells the untold story of the witches of Oz. The musical has been running on Broadway since 2003 and has been seen by over 50 million people worldwide.
