His daughter, Hélène Loussier Oziouls, confirmed his passing in Toulouse, while his son, Julien, attributed his father's death to complications from a degenerative disease.
Loussier's career began with a notable incident, as he stumbled during an exam performance of a Bach piece. Ironically, it was this misstep that set him on the path to fame.
After graduating from the Paris Conservatory, Loussier formed the Play Bach Trio, which released its first album in 1959. The trio's jazz-infused renditions of Bach's compositions became a global sensation, earning them critical acclaim and commercial success.
